Scallywag

Grandma Delta always calls Mason a scallywag, but we didn't really think he picked up on it until the other morning. We were messing around getting ready for the day and Marshall asked Mason "are you a scamp?" and Mason replied "no daddy! Scallywag".

A Proud Daddy

Marshall couldn't be prouder of Mason than he is right now. Marshall likes this computer game with star wars characters built out of lego and has been trying to get Mason interested. Well, it worked! Whenever we are in the computer room Mason grabs the joystick and says "Star Wars please". We think it is so funny. He has learned to jump, run, and swing the sword. Marshall has always wanted someone to play computer games with him (because I won't) and now he has his wish.

Mason and William and Kissy Face

Image
Mason and William were best buddies all weekend. Whatever William did, Mason had to join him. This is Mason's kissy face. He purses his lips like this, and then expects you to do the same. If you don't he grabs your lips and does it himself. Marshall and I try desperately to avoid sloppy mouth kisses, but he is quite forceful.

Delta Christmas

Public Embarrassment

I was just thinking this morning of some of the embarrassing but cute things Mason says in public. For example: * about a month ago we went to Costco and bought a birthday cake for Grandma Delta. All through the store I was saying that it was for Grandma and we were going to tell her happy birthday. When we got to the door where they check your receipts, there was a lady there who was probably in her late 30s or early 40s and she said "ooh, a birthday cake". Mason replied by yelling to her "happy birthday grandma!" * along the same happy birthday lines, I've been trying so hard to get Mason to say Merry Christmas, but all he says is Happy Birthday. I say Merry Christmas, and he says Happy Birthday. So we were walking through the store the other day he would wish every single person we passed a happy birthday. I was telling this to some people in the ward, and they suggested that we just get him to add "happy birthday Jesus" and everyone will think w...

Template Change

I was having problems with the old blog template--you had to scroll down to see the text and pictures ever since I added the youtube video. Hopefully this fixes the problem. The index is still at the bottom, but this way you can see the newest material at the top.

Polar Express

Image
Grandma and Grandpa Delta treated the whole family to a ride on the Polar Express tonight! We boarded the train in Heber, rode the rails to the North Pole, met Santa, and came back. Mason had a great time on his first train ride, though he wasn't too thrilled to see Santa.

Praying

Image
Mason is very good about folding his arms and closing his eyes when we say the prayer, but like most kids, he peeks! Also, after every song he hears, Mason thinks it is time for a prayer. So at the ward party after we sang a Christmas song he folded his arms and closed his eyes, and I took the opportunity to take a picture of him peeking!

A boy and his bear

Mason has been wanting to take his trains to bed lately, so we found Marshall's old Teddy Bear and gave it to him instead. He was very pleased, and hugged the bear all evening. When we took him up to put him in bed, he put his bear in the crib, turned around and told us to "shhhhhhh", left the room, and shut the door. He was putting the bear to bed! It was so cute. Now he's sleeping with his arms around the bear.

Mason's Race

It's a BOY!!

I had my big ultrasound yesterday and there is no doubt about it, we are having a baby boy! We're really excited to have two boys so close together (about two years). Everyone we tells says they will be the best of friends.

Grandma and A Little Hoarse

Mason is feeling much better. Yesterday we made chocolotes with Kim, Candi, and Grandma, and Mason was thrilled that his grandma was visiting. When it was time to go, Grandma said she was going to William's house, so Mason came upstairs and said "Mommy, I go William's house, kay?" He is getting so good at forming sentences!! He was so insistent upon going with Grandma, but it was 4 PM and he hadn't had a nap yet, so I didn't want him to go. So grandma took him upstairs and put him to bed. About an hour later he woke up crying for his grandma and again saying that he wanted to go to William's house. This morning Marshall and I slept in because we didn't hear Mason calling us at 6 like he usually does. We got up, got ready, and around 6:45 started worrying that he wasn't awake yet. Marshall opened his door, and there Mason was, standing in his crib, calling out for daddy. The problem was he had completely lost his voice and we could barely hear him. ...

Sick Again

Image
Mason was sick all weekend, and I took him to the doctor's today. He has bronchitis, a stomach virus, and the beginnings of another ear infection. So the doctor loaded us up with medications and sent us home. Poor Mason has been so tired today, content to sleep either in mommy's arms or in his Thomas bed. He spent most of the afternoon just like he is in this picture: lying in his Thomas airmatress, drinking water from his Thomas cup, and watching. . .you guessed it: Thomas!
