I Have Great Kids!

Just a few great things about my kids lately;: * Myles is sleeping 10-12 hours every night and I LOVE IT! On Tuesday night he ate around 4 PM and then fell asleep around 6 and I didn't hear from him until 7:30 AM. He is so much happier when he is well-rested * Mason is the best daddy in the world to his Bob doll. He puts Mason to bed about 10 times a day and turns on music for Bob to listen to. Right now Bob is in Myles' exersaucer "playing" * Mason is starting to get really into pretending. Yesterday I came down the stairs and Mason screamed "mommy! You stepped on Myles". I told him Myles was upstairs in his crib and he said "no, Myles is on his blanket and you just stepped on him. Tell him sorry mommy! No more stepping on Myles". I played along and said sorry, then he pretened to pick up Myles and patted his back and said "its okay Myles, mommy won't do it again." * Myles has started to giggle. It is so funny because it is so diffe...

Mason, Myles, and William

Image
Mason and William are the best of friends and have so much fun together. I love watching them and imagining that this is what Myles and Mason will be in a few years. And I can't believe how alike Mason and William look! I thought Myles looked so cute in this outfit that I had to take a picture.

Weekend Update

It was a pretty slow weekend, mainly because Mason was still in Delta until Saturday night. But on Friday the restoration company FINALLY put our carpet back in and finished work in the basement. Saturday we moved the furniture back and got the house looking somewhat back to normal. We had one of Marshall's old mission companions and his family over for dinner, which was pretty fun. Marshall hadn't seen him in 10 years. Then around 7:30 I went to Nicole's house to pick up Mason. When he saw me through the door he said excitedly "mommy!" but then he turned around and ran away from me. When I caught him he started crying that he wanted to stay at Aunt Nicole's house. You would think that after 4 days away from home he would be just a little homesick, but no way! The only way I convinced him to come home was to tell him that he could see Aunt Nicole and William again soon. Mason had fun in nursery yesterday. After nursery he ran into RS and said "look mommy!...

Pictures from Last Weekend

Image
Here are some pictures from last weekend at the zoo and bbq. Myles looking inquisitively at the camera. He smiles constantly, but as soon as the red light flashes on the camera he stops. I just can't get a picture of him smiling! Myles giving his cousin Katie kisses. Mason in a dinosaur egg at the zoo. Mason at the bottom of the snake slide. Mason with the white alligator Mason, Myles, and daddy waiting for the train to go. Mason and daddy pretending they are gophers--grandpa Goates' worst enemies! Mason riding an alligator

A Little Behind

Image
I'm a little behind on posting, even though I've been taking lots of pictures and we've been doing lots of fun things. Marshall's computer is being tempermental and he hasn't had time to fix it. It has been a busy week since Marshall came home last friday. On Saturday we woke up and headed up to Salt Lake to the Hogle Zoo in the morning. We had been telling Mason about it for a long time, but wanted to wait until the weather had cooled off a little. Well, Mason hadn't slept very well the night before and so he was pretty tired and didn't care much for the animals for the first few hours. When we came in the zoo entrance we saw a long line over by the train station, so we assumed that was the line to ride the train. The line looked hours long so we decided to look around the zoo and ride the train later. After seeing most of the animals we finally decided we might as well get in line. So Marshall stood in line with the two kids while I went and got in line fo...

A Crazy Week

Marshall has been gone all week, and he picked a bad week to leave (he's in San Francisco on a business trip). Last weekend a sprinkler outside burst and because our back drain was clogged, the basement flooded. It happened for the first time Friday night (we think) and then we thought we had the problem taken care of, but it happened again Saturday night. We didn't think it was that much water, so we used the steam cleaner to suck up the water and opened all the windows to let it air out. But the next day it was more wet, and then even more wet the day after that. So finally on Wednesday is started smelling moldy, so I sucked it up and called a restoration company to come see what they could do. Turns out the standing water grew toxic mold underneath the padding of the carpet and in the wall by door, so they had to rip the carpet out and clean underneath, replace the padding, and leave 6 fans, 2 de-humidifiers, and an air scrubber (to clean the air). They are only about h...

Another Myles-stone!

Last night I fed Myles arounf 8:30 and he fell asleep around 9 and. . . didn't wake up until 6:30 (or at least I didn't hear him)! It would be so wonderful if he kept this up!

Yuck

I just came downstairs and found Mason in the bathroom with his little stuffed horse. I asked him what he was doing and he said he is "wiping the horsey's bum". Then he told the horsey he had to wash his hands and, evidently, the horse refused so now the horse is in time-out. Crazy kid!!

Some Updates

We've had a fun week, and Mason has been extra cute: * the other day Mason wanted a drink of water but I was feeding Myles and told him to wait a minute. He said "don't worry mommy, I get it. You keep feeding Myles." He went downstairs, got his stool he uses to wash his hands in the bathroom, and took it upstairs. He put it in front of the fridge and put a cup in to get water, but it was turned on the ice function. He screamed "help, the rocks are coming out!" * last week grandma Delta bought Mason a train called Dennis, but he already had it. So I told him we could take it back to Walmart and trade it for a train he didn't have. He decided he wanted Rosie, so we went to Walmart yesterday. We went up to the customer service desk and Mason gave the man Dennis and said "we want Rosie, not Dennis". The man took Dennis and gave us some money back, which I gave to Mason. As we were walking away, suddenly he started screaming and crying. I asked w...

Myles' New Toy

Image
While Mason was on his bike ride with his dad and grandpa, Myles and I played. We got out the johnny jumper (or whatever you call those things) and he really loved it.

Payson Days

Image
We went to Payson's Onion Days today and had a great time. This is the first fair we've gone to where Mason has really wanted to ride the rides. As soon as we got there he wanted to ride the little trains, and after that he decided he wanted to go on the "dragon train" which was actually a kid rollercoaster. He went on all the rides by himself, but had this totally blank expression on his face the whole time. We couldn't tell if he was bored or scared, but everytime he got off he wanted to go again. Then he wanted a blue snow cone. I think he had a great time. After the fair, we went to Candi's for lunch and then he went on a bike ride with his daddy and grandpa. Lucky boy! He loved handing his tickets to the "station man"
