Max's 3-year-old Check-Up

Max waiting for the doctor. Max had his 3 year-old well-child check-up today (about 6 weeks late because we had such a busy summer). He did great and fortunately didn't need any shots--just the flu mist! Max is continuing to be a tiny guy, weighing just 26 lbs (3.78th percentile), measuring 37 inches (33rd percentile), and the little guy's BMI is just 13 (.6th percentile--yes, that's POINT 6). But the doctor said he looked healthy, had good muscle tone, and he definitely has a lot of energy so he wasn't worried. We were instructed to do the same thing we've been told to do for the other boys which is just stuff them full of food and ice cream (done!).  Max is meeting all his developmental milestones except for telling different colors apart, and he also had questionable results on the quick-and-dirty vision test they gave him, so they referred him to a pediatric ophthalmologist (which we were expecting). We were excited to be able to get him in this Thursday...

Utah State Fair

Saturday we took a little trip to Salt Lake for the Utah State Fair. Growing up in Canada, I'd never been to a State Fair before and we thought it would be fun. We were right!    I think their favorite part was the Pirate show. The kids were absolutely captivated for over an hour! They loved the rides. They weren't so thrilled with all the animals (and especially the smells) but I couldn't believe how big this cow was! It was 5'11 and almost 3000 lbs! Myles loved driving the monster truck. It is so great to see these boys love to have fun together. Watching a kids garage band.   Watching the pirate party. Fortunately it was in the shade. I had heard so much about fried fair foods and I had to try it. I opted to NOT try the fried green jello and instead bought the fried oreos. What a disappointment!! Seriously, they weren't even a little good. Max was the only one who would eat them.     Max loved being a big boy and we ...
