Keeping Up With the Joneses

Mason has been excited to have a Harry Potter party his 11th birthday (Harry got his invitation to Hogwarts on his 11th birthday). I'm really not much of a Harry Potter fan, but I am a Mason fan and I love throwing kids' birthday parties so I did some research (thank goodness for Pinterest) and put together a really fun party.  I found this template for the Hogwarts invitation letter online and printed it on parchment paper. All over Pinterest people recommend sealing the letter with wax but I really didn't want to take the time to do that, so I just found this image online and printed it onto sticker paper, cut them out, and that was the seal.  We folded the letter up like an envelope and addressed it to the child in the cupboard under the stairs (like the book). Mason invited all the boys in his class plus his brothers and Ari. We ended up having 12 kids.  I totally lucked out and a friend of a friend is a huge Harry Potter friend and let me borrow...

Its been a busy January, but here are a few pictures and updates of life in the Jones family. Its been a cold month, and McKay is always wanting to go outside and build a snowman. Finally I decided to bring the snow inside for him so he wouldn't freeze his little toes off. He loved the idea! McKay finished off his second tumbling class and had a blast. It really helps me to see him along side of other 2 year olds to realize what a good kid he is. Sometimes I think he isn't nearly obedient and attentive enough, but now I realize he is just 2.  Mason went skiing with his Grandpa Goates last week and had a great time. This is him getting all his gear ready the night before they went. Mason and his best friend Shea partnered up for the science fair and did a fantastic job. They asked 40 different people to either tell the truth or lie about their age, and then surveyed 80 people to see if they could tell who was telling the truth and who was lying. The results: me...
