Keeping Up With the Joneses

If you know Myles, you know he has to keep busy. A few days ago he decided he wanted to learn a "secret language" that Mason didn't know, and Marshall told him about Morse code. Since then he has been walking around the house saying "beep-beep-dot-beep" and is memorizing the code. He started by figuring out how to write names. I was telling my dad about this and he sent Myles the following email: ..   .-.. --- ...- .   -.-- --- ..-   -- -.-- .-.. . ... (I love you Myles) Myles responded with: -.--   ---   ..-   .  .-  -  -..  ---  --.  .--.  --- --- .--. (You eat dog poop). Yep--that's my boy. Valentine's Day is one of those holidays (like Halloween & New Year's Eve) that I hated when I was single and LOVE as a wife and mother. When life is going smoothly I love to make these holidays fun for the kids. I think traditions are important and add some fun into our lives. When life is not going smoothly, I feel like holidays are a burden and tend to either feel do nothing and feel guilty or go all out and feel drained. Fortunately, right now things are going smoothly and the holiday was fun. Marshall was smart and beat the crowds. Wednesday he brought home these AMAZING cupcakes for me from  Cravings . Now, I've tasted some amazing cupcakes. In addition to every cupcake shop in Provo, I've tried cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery and Sprinkles in NYC and Georgetown Cupcakes in DC. But I have to say these are definitely THE BEST I've tried. So far I've tried the white chocolate caramel, Boston creme pie, and some kind of chocolate mousse one and ...

So I am in no way a designer, photographer, or expert shopper like many of my awesome cousins and friends. But I was cleaning out my iPhone pictures and wanted to delete some, including pictures of this nursery. When I found out I was having another boy I decided that I absolutely did not want the same pastel blue nursery theme that I've had with every other baby boy. So I decided I wanted to honor his Canadian roots and decorate with a Canada/Hudson Bay theme. I ran out of time to paint, but I think it turned out pretty cute. These pictures were given to me by my Grandma Milne and were embroidered by my Great-Grandma Hall. Sort of politically inappropriate but cute none-the-less.  A lot of this stuff came from Mason's room when we changed his to a Star Wars theme (I'll post pics of his room someday--maybe).
