Keeping Up With the Joneses

This year Halloween has somehow turned into a week-long event, so I'm posting about the first part now. Because we have so many Halloween events this year, and because the kids are so indecisive about what they wanted to be, we have a variety of costume options: Thomas, Mr. Conductor, Sir. Toppam Hat, Tiger, and Zebra. On Monday we had my work family party--games for kids and pumpkin carving. Mason kept introducing himself to people as "Mr. Conductor, but some people call me Mason" in a very deep voice. Later he told us he had to talk like that so people didn't think he was a kid. Myles would have prefered to be the tiger, but we talked him into being Thomas for this one. Mason bossed him around the entire time and Myles didn't mind, because after all Mason was his conductor. Wednesday night we had the primary halloween party and Myles was a tiger and Mason was a zebra. They had all sorts of great carnival games for the kids. This is Myles' favorite costum...

Last weekend was BYU Homecoming and since we live so close to BYU and are such Cougar fans we decided to live it up! First, blue pancakes and milk courtesy of BYU. Then the Homecoming Parade--the kids loved the candy! While we were waiting for the parade Mason made lots of friends. Max wasn't so impressed. The morning was fun, but the evening was PAINFUL as BYU lost horribly to TCU. Grrrr!!

We had a great day Sunday celebrating Max's baby blessing. After church we had about 60 people over to the house for dinner. It is so nice to have so many loved ones to love and support my kids as they grow up! Max's grandma Delta made this beautiful blessing outfit with an angel theme. What a smile. This boy loves being the center of attention. How could you resist pinching those little cheeks? Into the blanket his grandma knit little angels. My sister-in-law Annie took these pictures--isn't she talented? Nine out of Max's 13 grandparents were able to attend the blessing. Five generations of Joneses. Four generations of Jones boys. Mason and Myles sneaked back into the kitchen after everyone left to polish of the little cake donuts. After everyone left the adults were all exhausted, but the kids had plenty of energy to beat up uncle Scott!

My parents and my brother's family came down to Utah for the weekend to celebrate with us. We had a delicious Thanksgiving dinner at Jessica's house on Saturday. The camera on my iphone is broken and can't find our regular camera, so no picutres for a while :( Yesterday all three boys went to the pediatrician's. I asked Marshall to come with me because I was worried about handling all three boys getting shots, and I'm glad he came because it was a little hectic. First of all, we love our pediatrician but he is consistently running WAY behind, even yesterday when we were his first appointment of the day. So we waited in the tiny room for about an hour. Max had his 2 month check-up and is super-healthy. He weighed in at 10lbs 15oz and is in the 30th percentile (I don't remember height). He was supposed to get 3 shots but since the other two boys had moderate reactions to their 2 month shots I asked if we could slow it down so he got 2 yesterday and will get the other next time. He screamed for about 20 seconds and then was fine until after his four hour nap when he woke up and SCREAMED for about 30 minutes. Now, I know babies...
