Keeping Up With the Joneses

I always forget how crazy and busy the last few weeks of school are, and this year was no exception. Here are a few highlights. Myles had his 3rd grade science fair and enjoyed doing an experiment about whether he could guess what was an acid and a base and then testing the substances with litmus paper. He sure is a budding scientist.  This is Myles and his two best buddies in his grade, Caleb and Hunter.  Max graduated kindergarten (again) and his class had a cute little ceremony. He has grown and learned so much this year and I am so proud of his progress. He is definitely ready for first grade! I tried to get some pictures outside of Max on his graduation day but he had a little shadow.  I sure love this guy.  Max is incredibly talented at Lego building. Even the sets that are meant for older kids (11-13) he can build with very little help. But that doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate the company of his dad sometimes! I took the kid...

A few weeks ago my mom, sister, and I met up in Vegas for a quick girl's getaway. I went a day early and had a relaxing spa day, and then when my mom and sister came we had a great time shopping, eating, and just catching up. While I was in Las Vegas with my mom and sister, Mason's 5th grade teacher got married and his friend's parents took him to the wedding. He thought he was pretty cool to match the wedding pictures. 

I just love homemade Mother's Day cards, and this year did not disappoint! Myles has been learning origami and made a card with this beautiful flower. Then he convinced the girl who sits next to him in school to do the writing for him.  Mason has been learning about circuits and made a card with copper tape on the back connected to a battery that lit up a bulb. And my sweet Max made these handprint roses at kindergarten. 

McKay, 2.5 years McKay is a stinker. A cute stinker, but still a stinker. I took him to the doctor's for his 30 month check-up. Fortunately, he didn't need shots but it was still pretty awful. For the last 6 months, overtime he falls down, has a scratch, etc. he says "I need to go to the doctor's" and so I hoped that he would do better than last time but NOPE. The very first thing they asked him to do was stand on the scale and he absolutely refused. Then cried and screamed while we weighed him on the baby scale. It only went downhill from there.  But. . . at least he is healthy! He weighed 29 lbs which is in the 39th percentile--38.5 percentiles higher than my other kids at this age! And he is 38 inches high which is in the 94th percentile for height!
