Moms Can't Get Sick!

I've been feeling pretty miserable since Saturday morning and finally went to the doctor last night when I started having a hard time breathing. Turns out now I have pneumonia and boy do I feel a lot worse for what little Myles went through last week now that I've had the same experience. So I'm taking it easy, trying to make the antibiotics work and get rehydrated, so I can get back to my mom duties. Marshall is staying home today to take care of things and so far (it is only 9 AM) each kid has had at least 2 huge temper tantrums and it is hard to hear the screaming and not go intervene. I need to get better--Moms can't get sick!

A Crazy Week

It has been a crazy week in the Jones house. Last weekend Max started getting sick and by Monday both Max and Myles were hacking up a lung and spiking a 103 degree fever. And of course Marshall also had an ear infection. So on Tuesday morning I took both kids to the doctor and when we got there--no fever, lungs and vitals were good, etc. She took a strep test which was negative and sent us home with me feeling really stupid for taking them in. But then that night Myles started throwing up from coughing so hard and had a 104 degree fever all night and Mason had an ear infection and had a terrible night. I gave it another day and Max and Mason started feeling better but by Thursday morning Myles was miserable with a 104 degree fever and still having a hard time breathing despite regular use of his inhalers. But he had preschool graduation that morning and was devastated at the thought of missing it. So I took him to the graduation for about 30 minutes and kept him away from the other ki...

Mason Passed Kindergarten!

Mason and Mrs. Robertson Mason had his final test on everything he learned in kindergarten yesterday and did so so so well. He has worked so hard this year and grown up so much. One of the other volunteers in his classroom mentioned to me that he is always happy and she has never seen him grumpy or upset. I think it is just because he loves school like his mama! For a while he has been upset about finishing kindergarten and having to go to first grade, but yesterday he told me he can't wait for first grade because they get THREE RECESSES! My little boy is growing up!

Weekend at the Spa

A few months ago a great deal came across TravelZoo for the Green Valley Ranch and Spa near Las Vegas. I recognized the name and talked to Marshall and quickly booked for a random weekend. We thought we would take the kids down and let them swim in the pool and have fun. But as the weekend approached and we decided we would leave Max with Grandma Delta, the other boys started complaining that they would rather stay in Delta than come with us. So we ended up leave all three boys with their Grandma for the weekend and took off Friday morning for the Spa. On the way we stopped at Snow Canyon near St. George and went hiking. It was beautiful hiking weather and we loved it. When we made it to the resort we were blown away--even more beautiful than I imagined. And, might I add, getting a great deal always makes things better. We got our luxurious room for $85 a night and got a $25 resort credit for each night as well that was good for the spa and food. What a deal! We spent some time at t...
